Established in 1999, the Center for Scientific Computation (CSC) is a research center, dedicated to the development and innovation of computational algorithms, with attention to their applications in the various areas of science and technology. CSC will advocate:
  • the development of innovative computational algorithms that are reliable, acc urate and efficient for scientific research;
  • the application of such algorithms in critical areas of science and technology and in finance and local industry;
  • the training of scientific and technical personnel.
The founding members of CSC come from various units of HKUST, including:
Mathematics,
Physics,
Chemistry,
Civil Engineering,
Computer Science,
Mechanical Engineering,
Finance,
Economics,
Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, and
Center for Coastal and Atmospheric Research.
